Picture of the week

One of my most favourite pictures. This is the A60 Stock No. 5163 arriving at Chorleywood and even the driver is posing!

This is another great sighting of a Black Five at Amersham in 1992. Not something you see everyday on the London Underground.

This weeks picture of the week shows a very well-known loco, No.12 Sarah Siddons shown at Amersham. Although this isn't from the 150 years celebrations it is still a great sighting.

This picture shows the difference between London Underground tunnelling now and tunnelling when they were first building the Underground.

The S8 Stock underwent many tests before its entry into service. This weeks picture of the week shows the S8 Stock being tested around Northwood. The S8 Stock was also tested overnight between Amersham and Watford via the Watford North Curve from November 2009. Driver training then commenced in January 2010 and the first unit to enter service entered service in July 2010.

This photo was taken at Watford showing the P and F Stock on the left and the A Stock on the right. The P and F Stock on the left is doing a Railtour as shown by the destination blind.

This weeks picture is a S8 stock (train no. 425) calling at all stations to Uxbridge. Train No. 425 is shown arriving at Barbican. A brief explanation of the S8 Stock (more information will be in a post later on). The 'S' in S8 Stock means sub-surface stock and the '8' means eight cars.
